The
following is the VLCD (hCG-Very Low Calorie Diet) Protocol that you will be following beginning with Day 3
of drops.
Daily Diet
Protocol
First, you
need to know that you will be having a maximum of 500 calories a day. The food is divided up into a lunch and a
dinner. Any item can be eaten at any time during the day as long as you do not combine two of the same item and
eat them together. In other words if you decide to have an apple and an orange for your daily fruits that is
great as long as you do not have them at the same time. In fact with fruit it is advantageous to allow 6
hours between your fruit intake. So I often pull a fruit forward as a breakfast or mid-morning snack and the
other fruit as an evening snack.
If you
ever do not want one of your meal items you may leave out the fruit or bread which both contain carbohydrates
but never omit your protein.
Your main
meal item is protein. You may have one serving of 3.5 ounces of protein (raw weight) which is 100 grams at each
meal. Protein can be boiled, broiled or grilled without oil. The following are allowable
proteins:
Chicken
breast - no skin or visible fat
Fish -
Cod, flounder, halibut, sole, tilapia, bass, shrimp, crab legs, lobster, and recently added tuna in
water
Beef -
ground if 93% lean, lean steak, or veal
Fruit -
apple, ½ grapefruit, strawberries (about 8), orange (not tangerine), peach, cantaloupe
Vegetables
- spinach, lettuce, cucumber, asparagus, bok choy, cabbage, swiss chard, beet greens, broccoli, green beans,
tomato, celery, onion
Bread -
one grissini bread or one melba toast (max 50 calories) can be pureed to use as a coating for protein or
thickener in soups.
Drinks -
coffee, tea, water, green tea. Diet soda is not suggested but can be taken as a treat. You must drink at least 2
liters of liquid a day.
Additional
Items - Stevia (Truvia) as an artificial sweetener. 1 lemon
on food or in a drink. 1 tablespoon of milk (use in coffee or before coating meat) green onions and garlic can
be used and not counted as a vegetable. Apple cider vinegar.
These Four
main food items are repeated for dinner. 1 protein, 1 vegetable, 1 fruit, 1 bread.
